Ihasfury /rawring and making dual-wield look sexier than it really is. |
Greetings and salutations everyone who views my blog. I apologize for not making a blog yesterday, I was extremely busy and I hope the three blogs on the 4th were good enough until I released this new one.
As many warriors and viewers of my blog have been wondering; which one is truly best for a fury warrior? I have been asked this and told by many people that dual-wield is better than 2 handed for the extra rage generation. Furthermore; you gain extra stats from your OH weapon and also, some have said that the abilities do not scale with the type of weapon you use. Meaning; you will always do x amount of damage regardless of what weapon you have. I find this to be false and I also find 2 handed to be best in slot when running around in PuGs and Dueling.
I have ran around with both for about 500 honorable kills (which is about 10 wsgs and abs, mostly wsg) and in my experience with both, regardless of winning or losing. I've always killed more people, I've always done more damage and I always feel more useful running around with a 2 handed weapon. Just yesterday, I did 2 ABs back to back, the teams were mostly balanced and I decided to run around with dual-wield during the first one, and 2 handed during the second one. I found that I actually did roughly 3,000 more damage than I had with a dual-wielding weapons. Now, I will not just say 2 handed is BiS for every sort of situation, this is just untrue and extremely unrealistic, there are going to be times where rage is always needed and dual-wield does provide a bit more of a rage generation than 2 handed does. Rage is your primary resource to pump out damage, which is why some warriors prefer to run around dual-wielding.
Now, below this text I shall be listing what I believe are BiS weapons for both 2 handed and dual-wielding (links are there, scroll over item names).
2 Handed - Reef Axe / Cold Iron Pick, Riot Stick (A)
Dual - PvP Vendor Swords, Warrior Quest Axe, Other Good Weapons to Consider

So it's obvious it does have an impact on Rend.
Now for actual numbers:
Highest Bloodthirst crits are, with both setups, between 450 and 500. Normal hits are ~200. No noticable difference between both setups. Highest melee crits with 2hander are around 400, highest crits with 1handers are around 240 (main hand ofcourse).
Note - With the whole "chance to hit" weapons, I tend not to use those because of the generally low chance rate for said ability to proc. Regardless, I am not telling you how to play your character and if you feel that a weapon that procs is better than another, that is your opinion. Stick to what you like and I'll stick to what I like. I am also here to provide information and how to better your experience when playing the warrior class.
